45 miles - not 1 blister ! I previously used cotton or generic brand wool socks for hiking. A bicycling friend recommended Smartwool socks, so I dug deep into the pocket and purchased several pairs. They performed extremely well on a recent 45 mile backpacking trip to Mt. Whitney. They were comfortable, did not bunch, remained dry, didn't smell (not too bad) and washed well on the trail. I took 2 pairs, alternated days and the socks appear to have worn well. We'll see how they look in several years! Good product, I would buy again. Look for sale prices and don't get hung up on color - it's not a fashion show out there!

GREAT socks!! These socks are very comfortable due to the combination of the wool and construction/support. The padding is just right and never feels bulky. My feet have never felt too hot which is remarkable living in SO. CA.
